Most decluttering accounts will tell you not to waste your time selling the items that you declutter— “Just donate everything instead!” But unpopular opinion? I 100% think there is a time and a place for selling items! I’ve decluttered thousands of items over the past five years and I’ve sold hundreds of those items- making thousands of dollars! That kind of money is significant to most people, myself included.
Most people have clutter laying around. Most people could use some help financially. Why not make progress towards both by selling your clutter?
I did a blog post years ago with tips, but over the years the apps have evolved and have become more saturated, making it a little harder to sell (IMO). So I spent the last part of my social media break REALLY focusing on selling and figuring out what does and doesn’t work these days. I ended up making $1753 in two months (with no big ticket items!!) I’m not sharing this to say, “Wow, look at me!”- but more to say, “Wow! Let’s turn your clutter into cash!”
This post will explain how I decide what to sell vs donate, where I sell items, and updated tips to experience success on those platforms so that you can make the most of your precious time. I’m also including the exact steps that I did to make that much money, and a printable to help set goals and keep track in November if you want to give it a try! Let’s earn some extra money and clear out space before the holidays, yeah?!
